Description
ZITCEF-LB is a fixed dose combination of Cefixime +Azithromycin + Lactic Acid bacillus .It is used to treat patients with bacterial infections. This medication works as an antibiotic by stopping the growth of bacteria and also killing it.
Cefixime & Azithromycin are antibiotics and have different mode of action . Cefixime Combination works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of the bacteria while Azithromycin stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic that are good for the gut. They prevent the growth of the other pathogenic bacteria that cause diarrhea or other bacterial infections. Thus, it helps in treating bacterial infections.
Zitcef LB only treats bacterial infections and doesn’t work for viral infections like flu.
Cefixime is used to treat infections of the ear, lung, throat, and urinary tract. Azithromycin is useful in the treatment of ear infections, strep throat, pneumonia, traveler’s diarrhea (loose stools and stomach cramps while traveling). Together they can be used to treat infections of the upper respiratory tract (typhoid and pneumonia), urinary tract and sexually transmitted diseases.
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Cefixime I.P
eq. to Anhydrous Cefixime —– 200 mg.
Azithromycin Dihydrate I.P
eq. to Anhydrous Azithromycin —— 250 mg.
Lactic Acid Bacillus —– 60 million spores.
Excipients q.s.
Colour: Yellow Oxide of Iron
