Description
Faropenem is a new oral penem which shows broad antibacterial activity against both aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Faropenem is highly stable against various beta-lactamases.
Faropenem Sodium belongs to the class of an orally active beta-lactam antibiotic. It is used to treat and prevent various forms of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase. Usually, it is for oral use. It appears as Pale Yellow Crystals and has a boiling point of about 163-164 ºC.
There are many uses of the compound in treating various alignments, such as:
- Respiratory infections
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Urinary tract infections
- Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
- Acute bacterial sinusitis
- Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections
It is also used in Dentistry and Oral Surgeries.
