Description

IROSOME is an iron replacement product. You normally get iron from the foods you eat. Iron helps your body produce red blood cells that carry oxygen through your blood to tissues and organs.
IROSOME is used to treat iron deficiency in people with chronic kidney disease who are on dialysis.
IROSOME may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

In addition to its needed effects, some unwanted effects may be caused by IROSOME . In the event that any of these side effects do occur, they may require medical attention.

If any of the following side effects occur while taking IROSOME , check with your doctor or nurse immediately:

More common:

  • Bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  • blurred vision
  • confusion
  • dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  • rapid weight gain
  • sweating
  • tingling of the hands or feet
  • trouble breathing
  • unusual tiredness or weakness
  • unusual weight gain or loss

Less common:

  • Bladder pain
  • bloody or cloudy urine
  • difficult, burning, or painful urination
  • fever
  • frequent urge to urinate
  • lower back or side pain

Ferric Pyrophosphate is used to treat iron deficiency. Iron deficiency will formulate a milder gastrointestinal fallout.
